Corporate Social Responsibility: Aegis Help for Children and Young People Fund
Today more than ever companies have a social responsibility and their involvement in society has become an important part of the modern-day reality in Germany. Where the sources of government funding and public institutions are no longer able to support people in difficult circumstances, the social engagement of companies has become a necessary building block in civil society.
The Aegis Media Group in Germany has fulfilled this civil engagement for many years. The association “Carat Kinder- und Jugendhilfe e.V.” (Carat Help for Children and Young People fund) was founded in 1999 and has continued under the roof of Aegis Media as “Aegis Kinder- und Jugendhilfe” since 2008.
The association supports long-term sick and disabled children and adolescents. Apart from financial support for healthcare, personal contact with the children and their families is a fundamental pillar of the association’s work. We are currently looking after nine children through voluntary sponsorships.
Furthermore the association supports projects and initiatives such as the children’s cancer unit at the university hospital in Mainz, the children’s hospice “Bärenherz” in Wiesbaden, as well as nurseries in the vicinity.
